August 23, 2010 - Fly Tyer Magazine!

Interest in the Trout's Eye View Fly Tying Mirror has been fairly consistent all summer, but that seems about to change.  David Klausmeyer has been kind enough to mention our product in the latest issue of Fly Tyer Magazine (  The magazine hasn't even hit the newsstands, but apparently some issues have reached subscriber's mailbox's because things just got all sorts of busy around here!  One of my favorite parts of all this excitement comes from the personal messages I receive from people who are as excited about this hobby as I am.

  • Great idea.  Will spread the word to others.
  • If you ever come to Michigan maybe we can wet a line together.
  • Just so you know, I've been looking for something like this for a while.  Thanks!
And that's not the only good news.  Here in the northeast part of the country, its been a hot summer, making for some challenging fishing.  The Little Lehigh is as low and as clear as I have ever seen it, so its the stealthy anglers using 8x tippet and a gentle presentation that are having the most success.  I hooked into a couple of beautiful browns this past weekend that were casually sipping tricos in the long pool downstream from the riffles.  I find it to be such a kick...  watching that fly that I tied gently descend to the water's surface, hoping that I timed it just right, and then...  There he is.  Is he going to snub me?  Nope, not this time he isn't!  Fish on!
Enjoy the fishing,
